Major Biblical Contradictions
In this section we present a short list of major Biblical contradictions noticed by scholar Kersey Graves, and delineated in his book Bible of Bibles. The interested reader is directed to this fine work, as well as to the previously penned The World’s Sixteen Crucified Saviors.
We go to this labor willingly since we cannot hesitate to warn our readers concerning the Bible’s outrageously contorted philosophy. This is, after all, a book in which we find mornings and evenings created before the sun, in which sons are two years older than the fathers who give them birth (see Chron 21:20), in which asses can talk and prophesize, and in which god hires his enemy Satan to tempt and then torment the most devoted amongst his believers. It is a book in which the “biographers” of Jesus cannot even agree as to the time of his crucifixion, at which they were present. In short, we need not bother ourselves separating “sheep from goats,” just the rational from the irrational. Such a distinction is necessary in this world since it appears that many of the latter sort command the ships of state and hold high office in the lands and since, even in our midst, we must encounter proselytizers, advocates and adherents of this garbled oriental lore which commands so much allegiance and veneration. Indeed, we can declare the Bible to be one of the most useful books in the world, given that it provides us an excellent gauge separating, not believers from unbelievers, but the sane from the unsane.

Pagan Origins of Christianity
Since its inception, Christianity has been a conglomerate of pagan solar, lunar, and stellar cults, worshipping the sun, the moon, and Saturn respectively, the most prominent of which are the solar cults. With a short examination of the evidence, it is obvious that the Bible is derived from previous and existing pagan religions. There is not one example of an original event or idea, just plagiarization and embellishment of previous ideas. At its heart, Christianity is a solar cult with no more validity than previous religions.
The word ‘pagan’ is Christian in origin and used to describe either someone who is not Christian, or someone who follows a polytheistic religion. A major difference between monotheistic and pagan religions is that pagans do not follow the word or doctrine of a human messiah, such as Jesus or Mohammed. (Philips) The Christian Church forced itself into society by converting the native people of any country to Christianity, either through deception or intimidation and threat of violence. The growth of Christianity was centered in major cities, where there were multitudes of highly suggestible people. In rural areas, where people are more entrenched in their ways, Christianity had a harder time taking hold. (Philips) Despite this, Christianity was able to entrench itself in the minds of the ignorant lower classes.
Christianity was founded at the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD by the Roman Emperor Constantine the Great. It was made the official religion of Rome. At this meeting, the Bible was constructed, using the most favorable portions of pagan religions. The Emperor Constantine himself, who resided over the writing of the Bible, was the chief of the Sol Invicta Solar Cult, a cult that believed that the Emperor was another incarnation of the sun, and occupied a holy position. (“Online Information”- Tsarion) Writings regarding enslavement, servitude, and obedience were included. Anything that was too radical and would not be easily assimilated into the culture was dismissed. However, near-identical variations to current religions were included, in order to help sway the masses to a new religion that they could relate to what they were used to. These transformations usually took place in the areas of gods and holidays.
Not a single Christian holiday is unique. The major holidays, Christmas and Easter, take place on the winter solstice and vernal equinox, respectively. These days are marked by feasting and celebration in most pagan religions. Easter was also celebrated in ancient Rome as the feast day of Juno Februa, their goddess of chastity. (Publishers Weekly) Furthermore, even the name ‘Easter’ was taken from the name of a goddess in northern mythology. (Philips) The date of December 25th was also used in many religions as their savior or primary god’s birthday, such as the sun-god Mithras in Zoroastrianism.
Major Christian saints and biblical figures are taken directly from pagan cults. The Virgin Mary herself was a depiction of the virgin goddess Diana. Diana had a strong cult following in Italy, so Christianity included the worship of Mary to help convert followers. (AC Grayling) Christianity uses this technique whenever possible to convert followers, professing to tell the true nature of various deities.
The main character of the Bible, Jesus Christ, is many things to many people; savior, idol, the Son of God. In reality, the Jesus figure, along with his many manifestations in other religions, is nothing more than the fictional representation of the sun. Throughout the Bible, every act of Jesus can be attributed to the sun. The most famous story, that of Jesus’ crucifixion, merely describes the sun’s journey through the sky. Throughout the year, the sun moves from the northern end of the sky to the southern end. On December 21st, the sun appears to stop in the sky. For three days, it moves neither northward nor southward. Then, on December 25th, it moves one degree northward again. It is ‘reborn.’ This is represented as Jesus dying for three days and returning to life. Jesus is said to die for the people on earth; this is the representation of the sun continually giving up its own energy so that life on Earth may flourish.
Solar symbolism is the basis for all of Jesus’ ‘miracles.’ Jesus is said to have turned water into wine. This is explained by the sun bringing rain to vineyards, and eventually fermenting grapes into wine. (“Online Information” – Bentkowski) Jesus is also said to have walked on water. This is nothing more than the fanciful description of the sun’s reflection on any body of water. Jesus is also depicted as wearing a crown of thorns, or a corona. The corona is the suns outer atmosphere, and is depicted as the sun’s rays emanating from it. (“Online Information” – Bentkowski) Thus, a picture of Jesus wearing the corona is clearly the sun radiating light.
Jesus’ life is a description of the sun moving through the 12 signs of the zodiac. This is also why he has 12 disciples. Jesus is said to have been born of a virgin. Not coincidentally, the sun begins its journey across the zodiac in the constellation of Virgo. Jesus’ birth is accompanied by the three wise men, correlating to the three-starred belt of Orion. (“Online Information” – Bentkowski) The sun enters the zodiac signs at 30 degrees. This is why Jesus is said to have started his ministry at age 30. (“Online Information” – Bentkowski) Jesus’ betrayal by Judas occurs when the sun enters the constellation of Scorpio. Scorpio is known as the backbiter. (“Online Information” – Bentkowski) All of the other zodiac symbols are represented throughout Jesus’ life.
An important solar symbol was an image of the sun behind a cross, known as the Solar Cross. The end points of the cross represent the solstices and equinoxes. The top point represents the Summer Solstice, when the sun is highest in the sky, the bottom represents the Winter Solstice, when the sun is lowest, and the Vernal and Autumnal equinoxes are level with each other and represent the equal times of day and night during those seasons. (“Online Information” – Bentkowski) This symbol is still used constantly, with one minor exception. The figure of Jesus Christ is transposed onto the cross in place of the sun, and it is known as a crucifix. The crucifix is the same symbol, using Christ as the sun.
Despite being a personification, the figure of Jesus Christ has been used many times previous to Christianity. The term ‘Kristo’ and its derivations have been used in almost every ancient religion. In ancient Ireland, the Druidic sun-king was named Yesu Crios. There is also the Egyptian word Krist, meaning ‘the Anointed.’ (“Online Information” – Tsarion) The concept of a Christ figure has been used repetitiously. Each figure shares the same attributes, and goes through the same trials.
The name Jesus Christ has also been used as a title, or denotation of rank. The ancient Jewish sub-cult the Essenes conferred this title upon high-ranking members. The highest ranking member of the solar Cult of Aton in Egypt was known as a Jesus Christ. It was used like the word ‘pope’ is today. (“Online Information” – Tsarion) It is obvious that not even the name of Christianities main player is unique.
There is clear evidence within Christianity itself that reveals its own absurdities. The Dead Sea Scrolls were found in 1947, and are among the oldest documents found dealing with Christianity. Written by the ancient Essenes, they make no mention of Jesus Christ. (“Online Information” – Tsarion) These documents mention a teacher figure that was said to live at least one thousand years before the Jesus Christ of the Bible. The fact that Jesus never existed is evident even within Christianity.
The various schisms within Christianity were concealed as much as possible, along with evidence linking it to past pagan cults. The Gnostics are one such example in that they forsook many traditional Christian doctrines in favor of more ancient Egyptian solar cult practices. Like the Essenes, the Gnostics placed their Jesus figure as having lived centuries before the commonly believed date. The Gnostics placed tremendous value on the spiritual aspect of Christ, rather than the physical. To them, Christ was a spiritual ideal to aspire towards, not a literal man who traveled the Earth. (“Online Information” – Tsarion) The Church did not want the teachings of the Gnostics to be known or studied, because it was clear that their doctrine tied directly back to the Egyptian solar cults. The Gnostic concepts were the basis for the Bible, which would be invalidated if it was commonly known that it stemmed from Egyptian pagan cults, and was not the Word of God.
There was even a Gnostic sect known as the Mandeans who believed that the Jesus of the Church was actually a ‘Lying Messiah.’ They were descendents of the Church of Saint John the Baptist, and called themselves ‘St. John’s Christians,’ and ‘descendents of the Egyptians’. (SOURCE ASTRO)
The Gnostics were persecuted unmercifully like any other opposition to the Church, despite in fact being a part of the Church. One crime attributed to the Gnostics was a non-literal interpretation of the Bible, in which they believed in the spirit of Christ, not the man. (SOURCE ASTRO) They read the Bible in the way it was meant to be read: through its archetypes and symbolism. The Gnostics also held great value in the feminine principle, which the Church has gone to considerable and disgusting efforts to demean, including casting the Virgin Mary as an unsavory prostitute, and not allowing women to hold positions of power within the church. (“Online Information” – Tsarion)
In its formative years, the Church did all it could to suppress any thought other than what they believed people should know. In most areas, it achieved its goal. Nearly the entire peasant population was illiterate, making it very easy for the priesthood to tell people the word of god. The Church held services in Latin, ensuring that they would remain in control of disseminating the Word of God. Owning and reading your own Bible was considered heresy, punishable by torture and death. The Church was responsible for thousands upon thousands of murders of various Gnostics, Pagans, and atheists. (“Online Information” – Tsarion”) The mass, illiterate population did not care whether the message being passed to them was fact or fiction. They knew that if they did not comply, they would be punished. The few literate people knew this as well, and so were silenced. This extended to America as well, regarding the thousands of “witches” burned at the stake. The Christian Church is guilty of crimes comparable to and exceeding the worst accounts of torture, enslavement, and slaughter.
The Church burned incredible amounts of pagan books, scrolls, and writings, for it would be obvious that they had no legitimate authority if such documents were found and well known. These documents recorded the existence of every aspect of Christianity prior to its inception. These particular aspects were gathered by various members of the Church and converted into a form that could be used to gain control over people.
Control has always been and will always be the primary objective of Christianity. Christian doctrine is a grand schematic for control over the mind and body of the populace. In the past, the Church was able to physically control the bodies of its prey, through threat and enactment of torture, excommunication, and death. They also controlled the mind, by keeping the populace in fear and ignorance.
Modern times would not allow for the former method of control, but the latter has pervaded through time. Most modern-day Christians are ignorant of the nature of the institution they are supporting. As technology increased and general morals were inducted into society, the church could no longer sustain its violent attitude as it once could. It found a new tool in guilt. Guilt can be a strong emotion to many people, and has the power to drive their actions. The Church offered a salvation from guilt: Christ would take the blame. This form of external salvation was attractive to many people who fashioned themselves as sinners, and key to another method of control. By believing that their eternal salvation lay in the hands of an external institution gave that institution massive control over the populace. Control over destiny is control over life.
It is obvious that the Christian Church is malignant, but even more obvious that it has committed a multitude of malignant acts throughout its history. History records are not even complete in measuring the atrocities the Church has committed, in the secret name of the pagan cults of old. The Church distorted these pagan views, many of which were compassionate and loving, and incorporated them into a mega-religion. This method was used because it was the easiest way to gain control over the masses, who only had to make a short step from believing in a god of one name to a similar figure with a different name. The themes and concepts presented in Christianity can easily be found in various forms in the many pagan cults that existed for centuries before Christianity was even conceived of.
